Well .. that's quite a wild idea ... Made by a special request by my girlfriend (her wish is my command )...
So, it's a lightning ball made of glass that you can put on your dock and use as a shortcut for anything (program or link exc.). The lightnings are animated, i made 86 frames (! to make sure it loops nicely .. I used some effects to make it feel more natural - Asymetric timing and fade in/out effects for the lightnings exc.
Including reflective and non-reflective versions.

Yo buddy, I can't seem to figure out where to put the files I have downloaded. I have the docklet files from your suggested link but I can't seem to figure out where to put it. Can you explain in detail which set of files goes where. Reading all the comments out here it's feels like it's one of the best icons and so I want to try it out too so just need your help to put me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!

Well, Wincustomize is free !!! All you need to do is to register (not even necessary as far as i know). But anyway, i cannot help about reviving the link so i supply an alternative one. I can assure you that Wincustomize is free (at least if you register with a user name as you did here on this forum(...). Anyway its a leading site for customizing windows and it has alot of things you can download for free(!). Hope it helps.

The animation program link to this site doesn't work and wincustomize wants to steal 30 dollars from you for a stupid download!?!??! Forget it!!

phenox123, please check the instructions and comments on the animated docklet's page (linkj in original post above). once you installed the animated shortcuts docklet, you can use animated icons on your dock (check my other animated icons for more instructions)...

Thanx sgtevmckay, well the lightning are actually changing colours across the whole spectrum, it depends on your background how well the colours are visible.. but abyway if you feel like experimenting, it's easy to change colours, you can use any graphic editor and play with the hue/saturation settings(and save a copy to see how it works).. give it a try and see if you find your favourite colours..anyway, keep in touch and see what we can come up with next... ;)

If I could just get some other colors (Red, blue, purples (love purple), etc))
And the orb have a little more of a glass feel!?!!

Thanx Sakros, lot's of work on the frames but also great fun to see it moving eventually, and the best part to see you guys love it.. puneet_july30, hope metallicafan818 helped you to make it work(thanx for that). anyway if anyone needs more help just let us know..
Rargo, not sure if i got your idea but anyway, feel free to experiment(i recommend GIMP as a graphic editor), but anyway, i'll try to make some colour versions in the near future...

after u have that u just put images into ur icon folder and jsut configure the shortcut.
